Daily Scripture and Prayer- Psalm 46:1,2

“God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea.”- Psalm 46:1,2

This is a declaration about our God when our circumstances don’t seem to match up with the promises of God. We can declare this scripture over our lives knowing that God is working through our circumstances to shape us into  His image. Our God is a constant presence and help in our times of trouble.

We must keep in mind that fear is from the enemy and casts out perfect love. (1 John 4:18) Unlike other gods, our God is also our Heavenly Father and as such, He is fiercely protective of His children. He is always there giving us the strength that only he can provide; so trying to solve problems in our own “strength” just causes frustration. We have been given the gift of the Holy Spirit to guide us and to tap into God’s strength so that it will also become our strength. When we feel “chased” by our enemies, God provides us with shelter and refuge through prayer and His Word. God loves us far beyond our wildest imagination and through all of our faults. He would move heavens and earth, literally, to protect us from harm.

Prayer: Father thank you for waking us up this day! We thank you for the Holy Spirit guiding us and teaching us. Thank you for always confirming your love for us Father and bestowing favor upon us. We are grateful to You for letting us hide in You while seeking refuge from our enemies and the Enemy. I know that you have not given us a spirit of fear. Thank you for moving Heaven and Earth to protect us.  We pray that the Holy Spirit calls to mind this love when we are weak. It’s in the mighty name of Jesus we pray.
