Shay’s Mix and Mashup Worship “Fear Not”-Daily Scripture and Prayer -Daniel 10:12

Then he said to me, β€œFear not, Daniel, for from the first day that you set your heart to understand and humbled yourself before your God, your words have been heard, and I have come because of your words.- Daniel 10:12

God answers prayers!

Daniel was greatly distressed and in fear about a vision that he received that was for the “days to come”. Daniel had been confessing, praying, fasting,  for three weeks when God sent the angel Gabriel to relay the answer to his prayers. Gabriel comforted Daniel first by telling him that there was no reason to fear. He commended Daniel on his perseverance to understand this vision and that he humbled himself in confession and prayer to the Lord (Daniel 9:1-19). Gabriel then goes on tell Daniel that from “first day” that he prayed to the Lord that he was dispatched to answer his cries.

“For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.” -Ephesians 6:12

In route to answer Daniel, Gabriel contended with a demonic force on assignment by the Enemy for 21 days.  Michael one of chief princes came to help Gabriel where he had been detained.  Daniel was empowered by prayer and his prayers were effective. We know this because God  sent an Angel with a Word which ended up being the explanation for the vision he received.

What do we learn from this?

There will be times that we are fearful or distressed to the point that we feel like our hope is delayed or our prayers are not being answered.  We must set our heart on understanding and with humility before God.   Scripture tells us that the prayers of the righteous are “powerful and effective”. Daniel while fearful chose to set his mind on God. God hears these prayers and answers them.  (James 5:16)We have the Holy Spirit within us to guide us and pray our hearts to the Almighty God. Our future is not bound by fear. No matter what is going on in our lives or how the world deteriorates – God is Sovereign.  He may not answer our prayers right away or on our time but he does answer those whose hearts are turned toward him.

Heavenly Father we praise you for vision. In your Word, you tell us that without vision that we perish. Please, God, make dreams come true and impregnate us with a vision that surpasses what we could ever dream for ourselves. You are always on time and you never delay. Help us to be faithful and stay the course even when things look bleak and confusing. We stand on your Word that if we seek you that we will find You. Cast out fear from our hearts and replace it with complete trust in you.

In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray
