And he said to me, “Son of man, can these bones live?” And I answered, “O Lord God, you know.” 4 Then he said to me, “Prophesy over these bones, and say to them, O dry bones, hear the word of the Lord. – Ezekiel 37:3-4
God has placed eternity in the hearts of all but not all will have the same destiny. (Ecclesiastes 3:11, Philippians 3:20,21) Although death is a natural part of living Children of God look forward to the time when will drink of the waters of eternal life in a heavenly paradise with God. But what if we are experiencing a “dry spell ” in our earthly lives with God now?
Ezekiel chapter 37 gives a thrilling account of God’s hand upon Ezekiel and leading him to a dry valley by the Spirit. God asks Ezekiel a profound question in this dry, mix of bones in this valley. He asks Ezekiel, ” Son of man can these bones live again?”There are many accounts in the bible where God begins an encounter with a question.( Genesis 3:9,10) God is all-knowing and asks questions to call out to the heart of man. (Genesis 4:6) God intersects in our lives and enters the picture to shift our paradigms and to remind us that He specializes in the impossible.

God’s Word is alive, even dry bones can be made alive with Him.

Amen! When we are in fear, we can be confident that the God who speaks life is able to breathe life into our dry bones. He is able to make us know Him and live for Him eternally.
