Healing Holy Spirit Soul Food With the Bread of Life

Drinking From The Rivers Of Life

“If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink. He who believes in Me, as the Scripture said, ‘From his innermost being will flow rivers of living water.”-John 7:38,39

There are many people who are in want or thirsting for more than this life has to offer. Jesus makes the promise that anyone that believes in him will have their thirst satisfied.

Jesus says that believing in Him is also drinking from Him.

We come alive in the rivers of life that are promised to all that believe. (John 7:37) Jesus promises to pour out the Spirit to all who seek Him (Luke 11:13).  When we dwell in the rivers of life we are ushered into the light and presence of our Holy God. (1 John 1:5-7)As we are warmed in His presence it is by His wonderful light that we are also sensitive to the leadings and whispers of the Holy Spirit. We never want to find ourselves wandering in the billows of darkness where God’s presence is absent. Spiritual darkness is destructive to a relationship with God.We never want to quench the overflowing Spirit that dwells in us and flows from our being as rivers of living water.

It is God’s desire that we dwell in the river all of our days to be healed and constantly renewed by Him. We abide in Him and He abides in us.( John 15:4) Just like the pool of Bethesda’s stirring waters, our hearts are stirred by the spirit and we are constantly transformed by His power.(John 5:1-15) God invites us to be still and know that He is God. It is in the “stillness” that we find peace and rest in Him.  He invites us to dwell in the flowing rivers of life and to seek to fall under the weight of His presence.  He longs for us to experience Him flowing through us since He dwells in us for all eternity.
